New York Wrap Up…
After the madness of Fashion Palette and New York Fashion Week, the BOWIE team have some time to sort through our wonderful collection of snapshots from the event, and share them here with you. Enjoy!
From Runway To Red Carpet…
Last Thursday night saw the stars sparkle on the red carpet at the 10th Annual ASTRA Awards… And one BOWIE-dressed celeb showed that she can eloquently make a mark on both the catwalk as well as the red carpet.
Last year, Kate Peck glided down the runway at the BOWIE show at Australian Fashion Week…
And at the ASTRAs, Peck appeared endearingly mischievous in her BOWIE kimono gown with silver-bell shoulders. Proving she has what it takes to be the new face of MTV… Style, smarts and sexiness.
Grazia! BOWIE The Trooper…
You may recall that last month, Stylehunter ran an exclusive competition in which one lucky winner got their hands on a one-off, custom made BOWIE leather and lambswool cropped jacket. Well, before it became a prized possession it was styled by Tiana Wallace and featured in a fashion editorial for Grazia Magazine.
This week, you will find this sexy jacket on page 61 of the magazine, included in the “Trooper”-inspired photo shoot, shot by Chris Collis.
No doubt, this look will warm you up on any cold winter’s day!
Couturing.com Interviews Bowie Wong…
The lovely Lisa Teh from Couturing.com recently chatted to designer Bowie Wong about his latest collection, his past inspirations, his design philosophy and what’s in store for the future.
For the full interview and some stunning runway photos, head over to: http://www.couturing.com/blog/read-entry?blog_entries_id=242
To whet your appetite, here’s a sample of what was up for discussion…
“LISA: You collaborated with industry heavyweights Kevin Murphy, Napoleon Perdis and stylist Sophia Banks-Coloma for your recent runway show to ensure every element was perfect. How important are runway shows to showing the industry and the public your stunning designs?
BOWIE: On the whole, when people see my designs, they ask me “It’s lovely, but who is going to wear it?” But for me, a runway show is a collaborative event with other artists and it gives us a chance to express ourselves… In this way, we hope that the public can come to understand what it is we do and also learn to respect out titles as designers and artists. It is not meant as straightforward a commercial activity and I hope people can look deeper than that to see the story and the effort that goes into a show.“
